This Lenten drive gathers the many new household items, toiletries and cleaning supplies needed to run our Refugee Resettlement program. Not only does it supply at least 8 family homes per year, the items also benefit those in need that come to St. Laurence for help in crisis situations. We have also added the Parks Youth Ranch (a shelter for homeless teens) and items to support our Hope Bags for the homeless. For more information, please contact the Social Concerns office at socialconcerns@stlaurence.org
The Giving Tree Drive tag line takes place during the first 2 weekends of Lent.
If you missed the tag line, but still want to donate, please find a list below of NEW items we will be collecting. Due to the large number of people in crisis in our community, our stock will be depleted by August, so we are happy to accept additional donations year-round.
If you prefer to make a monetary donation, drop it in the collection basket or mail to St. Laurence Social Concerns at 3100 Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land, 77479. Checks should be made payable to St. Laurence with "The Giving Tree" in the memo section.
Many times clients will come in needing food or gas assistance. Since St. Laurence
does not have a food pantry, we will give them a gift card to a local store so
they can purchase the needed items. Additionally, many local stores
have gasoline, so the gift cards serve double duty.
We are always in need of the following gift cards:
