In October 2023, Pope Francis will hold the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops and has asked for participation from every diocese around the world. According to Cardinal DiNardo, “A synod is a conversation about who and what we are and what our experiences are. And that’s what we’re going to try to do in some intelligent, methodical form in the next few months. The goal is not solving a problem. That’s not what synods do. Pope Francis wants us to talk together, and he wants us to disclose who we are. We have to speak together because the Spirit is the relationship, the string that holds us together.”
This Synod is a special and unprecedented 2-year process, inviting the Church all over the world to participate. We are going to journey together by listening to one another and listening to the Holy Spirit. This process allows us to walk together, guided by the Holy Spirit, to hear what God is saying to all of us.
