A ministry that welcomes seniors with mobility issues and/or early dementia, to grow in fellowship with others who share similar challenges, enjoy activities that promote their well-being, engage in service projects to benefit others, and to provide free time for their loved ones/caregivers.
Led by Fe Vicerra (a retired ER nurse) and Julie Koeppen (a physical therapist), this ministry will be offered weekly on Fridays (9:30-11:30am) at the Ave Maria Center.
The program will offer a balance of activities to stimulate the mind, fine motor skills, and confidence/dignity. At the same time, it provides an opportunity for members to develop friendships, grow spiritually, physically and emotionally, plus gain access to ways to serve others.
STEP ONE: Contact us for an initial meeting!
Prospective members (together with a family member or caregiver) are invited to meet with the coordinators in advance. In this way, each member will receive individual attention to assess personal limitations/needs. Note: Members must be somewhat mobile, able to walk short distances or transfer to a chair.
STEP TWO: Meet in Marian Hall at the Ave Maria Center (across Sweetwater from the church) each Friday. Loving Seniors meets most Fridays from 9:30-11:30am. (If there is a change to the schedule, either location or cancellation, members will be notified in advance.)
