Serve the Lord with Gladness
Bishop Brendan Cahill, STD
Shout joyfully to the LORD, all you lands;
serve the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful song. (Psalm 100)
In the Joy of the Gospel, Pope Francis says, “I am a mission on this earth; that is the reason why I am here in this world. We have to regard ourselves as sealed, even branded, by this mission of bringing light, blessing, enlivening, raising up, healing and freeing.” Through the power of the Holy Spirit, each of us is transformed and called by name to love, to be loved, and to transform the world around us. How extraordinary! What joy!
The Victory of Authentic Love
Sr. Miriam James Heidland, SOLT
How do we advance the Gospel in a world that seems so lost and uninterested when it’s God’s desire that His children be set free from sin and darkness? Sr. Miriam will explore the deep treasures of our faith that equip us for spiritual battle, a rich life of prayer and authentic love and communion. It is the grace of God that allows us to live vibrantly as a gift for others and, as St. John Paul II so beautifully stated, “become who we are.”
Called to Be Missionary Disciples
Ennie Hickman
In a world that is increasingly hostile towards faith and family, what are Catholics to do? How do we live a life of joy amidst such hatred and injustice? The answer can be found in none other than the greatest command in the law. In Matthew 22, when asked to reduce the entire law, Christ gives us the solution to the world’s issues and our marching orders: love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
