Children in grades 1-5 are invited to attend our
CCE (Continuing Christian Education) program.
During the classes, the children are instructed by catechists who guide them in their journey of faith through lessons, discussion, Scripture, activities, and crafts. Our program is designed to partner with the parents in order to help your child grow and develop in their faith through different themes and topics.
Families may also choose a Home Study option where they use the same materials as the CCE program, in order to study as a family at home. This is a great opportunity for those who cannot commit to attending weekly classes and fits even the busiest of family schedules.
CURRICULUM & CLASS SCHEDULES
Elementary CCE and Home Study families both use the RCL textbook series,
Be My Disciples, for Grades 1-5.
Be My Disciples
is a Christ-centered curriculum which emphasizes learning and practicing the skills and habits, virtues and spiritual gifts that lead young disciples to higher levels of moral thinking. This series teaches the pillars of the Catechism - Creed, Sacraments, Morality, and Prayer - every year in every grade level. Each year, children will build upon and reinforce what they have previously learned with the summary section at the end of each unit including a "Connect With Scripture" and "Be A Disciple" exercise, focusing upon the following unit themes:
We Believe: The Creed
We Worship: Liturgy, Sacraments and Prayer
We Live: Christian Morality
We Celebrate: The Liturgical Year
Catholic Prayers and Practices
Catechists and parents have access to a variety of resources provided by RCL, including access to the
Be My Disciples website: www.bemydisciples.com
This website provides an amazing amount of content and links to help develop lessons and faith formation. Families may access this website to further explore or enhance their weekly lessons.
For the 2017-2018 Program Year, Elementary CCE Classes (Grades 1-5)
will meet on the following days and times

Registration for the upcoming CCE program year (2017-18) for classes beginning in September, 2017
Currently registered CCE families may pick up their pre-printed family registration forms at the front desk of the Ave Maria Center beginning the week of April 3rd.
New families to the program are invited to download the registration forms from our Registration webpage or may pick up a complete registration packet at the AMC.
Please note that placement in these sessions will be provided on a first-come first-served basis, depending upon availability of catechists/adult volunteers to teach during the sessions offered.
We ask that you mark your first and second choices on your registration forms in order to place your children into classes.
We also ask that you also prayerfully consider supporting this special ministry by stepping out in faith and serving as a catechist, co-catechist or assistant in the program. Materials and training are provided and this is a beautiful way to grow in faith with your child and serve the children of St. Laurence!
Volunteers are always needed for CCE. Please consider offering your time in one of the many wonderful opportunities to get involved. If interested in volunteering, please complete and return the
RE Volunteer form
located on the RE Registration page.
