VOCATION TESTIMONIAL
Having a child in formation for the priesthood has been one of the greatest blessings in our lives. As we have come to understand the type of person it takes to answer God’s call and coming to realize that our son is that type of person, has been very humbling as parents. When Chad made the decision to enter into formation there were many different feelings and emotions the family went through but the final outcome has been a complete sense of peace for all of us.
While we never specifically discussed the priesthood while Chad was growing up, we did know he would have a career in which he would be in service to others such as a pilot, which was always Chad’s dream. But God had a better plan! Since Chad has entered the seminary, we have often thought about the commitment and sacrifice required to become a priest, and how challenging that would be on a young man. Over the past two years, however, we have come to see that Chad does not look at it that way. For Chad there is nowhere else he would rather be, and nothing else he would rather be doing. He has found joy and truly what more do parents want for their child.
These past two years he has grown in so many wonderful ways. We have been very fortunate to get to know many of his fellow seminarians; being around them just makes you happy! Chad’s calling is a blessing, that God has called him, a regular kid who grew up playing football and baseball, to be of service to the Church and commit his life to Christ. It truly is a beautiful life.
