“Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God."
Mark 10:14
The Catechism teaches us that parents are the first teachers of the faith to their children. And guess what? It doesn't have to be scary! St. Laurence now offers a very special Faith Formation program, called Clubhouse 10:14, for three and four year old preschoolers and their parents. The program will begin in the Fall Semester 2022 and will meet on the third Sunday of each month*, beginning at 10:14 am. After the 9:00 Mass, one or both parents will "enter the clubhouse" in the Ave Maria Center with their preschooler(s) for a fun and adventurous introduction to the Catholic Faith! Research shows that when fathers are active role models for practicing their faith, children are more likely to remain active members of the Church so fathers are strongly encouraged to attend!
*The third Sunday in October is the Parish Bazaar so we will meet the morning of the last Sunday instead.
Clubhouse 10:14 is an interactive parent-child preschool Faith Formation program filled with games, song, Bible stories, movement and fun! The program is for 3 and 4 year old preschool children, accompanied by one or both parents.
In keeping with the Parish initiative of Forming Intentional Families, parents will gain hands-on experience in how to become their children’s first and best teachers of the Catholic Faith. Clubhouse 10:14 is designed to become a community of parents helping and supporting each other in the Faith Formation journey!
Clubhouse 10:14 will gather on the third Sunday morning of each month at… you guessed it…10:14 a.m.! Parents and preschoolers will meet in Marian Hall after the 9:00 a.m. Mass. After a period of interaction, we will begin our adventure at 10:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m.

CCC 2223 Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children. They bear witness to this responsibility first by creating a home where tenderness, forgiveness, respect, fidelity, and disinterested service are the rule. The home is well suited for education in the virtues. This requires an apprenticeship in self-denial, sound judgment, and self-mastery - the preconditions of all true freedom. Parents should teach their children to subordinate the "material and instinctual dimensions to interior and spiritual ones." Parents have a grave responsibility to give good example to their children. By knowing how to acknowledge their own failings to their children, parents will be better able to guide and correct them:
