Annual Labor of Love Donation Drive Saturday, September 7, 2024 8AM - 11:30AM at the church bell tower
The Filipino Community of St. Laurence (FCSL) and the Medical Missionaries of the Divine Mercy (MMDM) for the Philippines mission are having their annual donation drive drop-off post Labor Day weekend Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 8AM to 11:30AM.
The initiative aims to provide assistance to communities in the Philippines that are frequently affected by natural calamities such as typhoons, earthquakes, and droughts.
The donated items will reach the Philippines in time for Christmas and the February 2025 medical mission allowing the targeted communities to experience the gift of love from our Savior, Jesus Christ.
These items will be distributed among abandoned adults' shelters, orphanages, calamity evacuees, pediatric patients, poor convents, and impoverished barangays.
To contribute, simply drive by the church bell tower, and we will help unload the donated items from your vehicle (see the recommended drop-off flow). We sincerely appreciate the following items, which are always on high-demand:
- canned meats like luncheon meat (spam), Vienna sausages, ham, and corned beef - hygiene items like soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes - medications, especially children's and adult vitamins - anti-fungal creams, topical antibiotics - small toys - small lightweight blankets - new towels - good condition tennis shoes, flat shoes and slippers - new socks, new underwear - summer clothing (adult & children) - used walking canes - backpacks, pencils and pens - monetary donations (to cover the shipping costs of these donated items) - make checks payable to St. Laurence Parish, write in memo line FCSL - MMDM
