Home Study Program
St Laurence offers a Home Study program to support the parent’s vocation of being the first catechist to their children. Parents who register for the home study program are provided with resources and support to assist them in teaching their children at home. Children in our home study program are always invited and strongly encouraged to participate in the group activities of our religious education such as CCE Masses, Prayer Services or Middle School Edge Nights or Socials.
Families who learn intentionally share their faith will grow deeper in their faith together. That is the greatest benefit to the home study program for families who are committed to its process. Families teaching home study have found an additional benefit is the flexibility of teaching at your own pace and on their own schedule. It is also a great chance for families to join together and form a home study group of similar ages or within a neighborhood. The possibilities and growth of your children in their faith is endless with the deeper integration of faith formation with your family’s life.
Please see the document to your left for Home Study Program Requirements. There has been a change from prior years on how to receive credit.
Through our home study program, we want to support your desire to continue your child’s faith formation. And so we pray for you as you continue your journey, as you and your family walk by faith. Pope John Paul II said, “It is above all in raising children that the family fulfills its mission in proclaiming the Gospel of Life.”
