We welcome all women of the parish!
St. Laurence Ladies Guild wants you to join our ministry. We consist of women of all ages, interests, professions and backgrounds, and we meet once a month on Thursdays, between August-May, at 7:00pm in the Parish Hall. Our monthly meetings always include prayer, fellowship, lots of good food and drinks, and an interesting speaker or a fun program.
Ladies Guild's mission is SERVICE, and our motto is taken from the Gospel of Matthew, “to serve, not to be served.” We strive to serve our parish and community through our fundraisers and various ministries.
Net proceeds from our fundraisers, such as Family Night and Ladies Guild Garage Sale, benefit charities. Last year, we donated over $6,500 to six primary charities. As for our ministries, members have the option to serve in many different areas. Our ministries include:
Meals That Heal
Meals That Heal Ministry provides meals to those who need a little extra help during times of illness, after surgery, or childbirth. As part of the St. Laurence Ladies Guild, volunteer chefs from Meals That Heal deliver a warm smile and meal to families when they need it most. Volunteer chefs are welcome! Last year, this Ladies Guild ministry prepared and delivered nearly 100 meals to families that needed a little help.
Funeral Reception Ministry
Members of the Funeral Ministry prepare and serve food for funeral receptions. This ministry is a part of the St. Laurence Ladies Guild and seeks to serve parishioners by seeing to the details involved in creating a reception for family and friends of the deceased. Last year, this Ladies Guild ministry prepared food for and served at 25 parish funerals.
Praying Hands
Ladies Guild Praying Hands is one powerful prayer chain! This group of dedicated, prayer warriors prayed for the intentions of 250 people who submitted special prayer requests last year.
Receptions
Ladies Guild knows how to do receptions! We are asked to coordinate and serve at a variety of parish receptions, such as the Rite of Sending, Easter Vigil, and Palm Sunday, plus coordinate the refreshments for Ministry Fair Weekend and Hospitality Sunday.
Don't miss the chance to socialize and serve with other great women of the parish! For info on current programs and events, open our newsletter via the link on the left or contact Sharon Carroll.
