WHO WE ARE AND HOW WE SERVE
The St. Laurence Social Concerns Ministry is a group of volunteers that provides the opportunity for all parishioners to respond to the teachings of their faith. The ministry draws attention to the needs of the community and facilitates programs that extend a helping and caring hand to those who are trying to achieve self-sufficiency. Participating in the Social Concerns Ministry is a wonderful way to share our blessings with those in need. It also offers opportunities to involve children in community service and teach them the true meaning of Christianity.
The Social Concerns Ministry is made up of more than 30 separate drives, ministries and support groups. Each of these ministries addresses the various social justice issues.

VOLUNTEER / SERVICE HOURS
Volunteer opportunities and service hours are always available via the Social Concerns Ministry. Should you wish to volunteer, please email the person listed as the contact. Service hours are not just based on serving in a food pantry, but also by collecting a certain amount of items, or donating specific items. TEENS: If you work with your parent(s), you can earn DOUBLE hours (except for Confirmation service)!
PARISH DRIVES
These are the huge drives for food, clothing, and other items that our parish undertakes each year to benefit our community. We take care of a large number of the poor and unfortunate in our area and wish to continue doing so with your help. Please check out the list below to see how and when you can participate in these amazing acts of charity!
- The Giving Tree (Lent)
- Baby Shower (May)
- School Supply Drive (June)
- Back to School Shoe Drive (July)
- Share God's Bounty (November)
- Wish Upon A Star (December)
