What is Adult Faith Formation?

Adult faith formation facilitates continuing spiritual and catechetical growth for parish adults.

Why do we have Adult Faith Formation?

The United States Catholic Conference of Bishops in 1999 authored a pastoral plan for adult faith formation in the United States entitled Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us.  This document made clear a new priority for adult faith formation.  We are called to grow in discipleship throughout life, to build vibrant parish and diocesan communities of faith and service.

What is the goal of Adult Faith Formation?

As the Bishops stated in Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us: “We seek to form adults who actively cultivate a lively baptismal and Eucharistic spirituality with a powerful sense of mission and apostolate.  Nourished by word, sacrament and communal life, they will witness and share the Gospel in their homes, neighborhoods, places of work, and centers of culture.”

The office of Adult Faith Formation at St. Laurence Catholic Church endeavors to foster a parish environment that helps the believer to flourish and constantly be challenged to grow in faith. 

Adult Faith Formation sessions are open to everyone.

New Adult Faith Formation Registration Process

To register for any Adult Faith Formation program, you must fill out a registration form. This can be done in person at the RE Center or online. If you choose to register online, in the right hand corner of this page is a  "REGISTER TODAY", link. Click on it and it will connect you to the St Laurence Religious Education registration page. On the left hand side under "DOCUMENTS" is Adult Program Registration Form 2012-13. Click on it and the registration form will appear. Listed will be the programs offered for 2012-13. You may sign up for more that one program. If payment is required, follow the directions listed below.

Download and complete the fillable PDF form. Once you have completed the form, you can turn them in by one of the following ways:

• Print out the completed form then and Mail in/Drop off at the RE Center with payment.
• Fax the completed form to the RE Center at 281-565-0894 and than drop off/mail in payment.
• Email an attachment of the completed form to reregistration@stlaurence.org and then drop off/mail in payment. Please attach all forms for your family in one email.
